السؤال الذي يتجنّبه الجميع
السؤال الحقيقي الذي يتجنّبه الجميع، ونحن أولهم، هو: هل نحن أمام تحوّل جذري في موازين القوى العالمية، أم أنها مجرد مناورات سياسية عابرة؟ عندما نرى تقارباً بهذا الحجم بين قوى عظمى، ألا يجب أن نتوقف ونتساءل بجدية: هل ما نراه هو نهاية نظام عالمي اعتدنا عليه لسنوات طويلة، وبداية لآخر لا نعرف ملامحه بعد؟ هل نحن، كدول وشعوب، نُدرك حقاً أبعاد هذا التغيير؟ أم أننا نكتفي بتحليل السطح دون الغوص في الأعماق؟ من منا لم يشعر، ولو للحظة، أن هناك شيئاً أكبر وأعقد مما يُعرض علينا في نشرات الأخبار؟ لماذا نُصرّ على قراءة التاريخ من صفحة واحدة، بينما الصفحات الأخرى تُكتب في صمت؟
وجهان لعملة واحدة

ماذا لو كنّا صرحاء؟

The real question everyone, including ourselves, tends to sidestep is whether these events signify a fundamental realignment of global power or merely transient political maneuvers. When such significant rapprochements occur between major powers, shouldn't we critically ask if the established global system, which we've grown accustomed to, is truly nearing its end? Why do we often insist on viewing history from a single perspective when other narratives are being silently written?

One perspective argues that these meetings are temporary reactions to Western pressures, asserting that Western economic and military power remains unchallenged. Proponents of this view suggest that any other alliances are merely desperate attempts to break isolation or secure short-term gains, lacking genuine cohesion and unlikely to withstand severe tests. For them, the current global order is resilient, and attempts to alter it will face fierce resistance. They see these events as minor adjustments rather than fundamental restructuring.

For these observers, such rapprochements are not just reactive but represent long-term strategies to redraw the map of global influence. They believe these powers aim to transcend the Western model, not only in politics and economics but also in values and future global visions. They contend that the hour of change has struck, and those who fail to recognize it will be left behind.
What if we were frank enough to admit that the world is no longer dominated by a single superpower? What if we acknowledged that the rules of global engagement have changed, and that we, as societies and nations, can no longer afford the luxury of detached observation? Such an admission would compel us to re-evaluate everything: our alliances, economies, and even our cultural identity amidst global value conflicts. Will we continue to bet on a single horse, or is it time to diversify our stakes and build strategies that secure our interests regardless of who holds the reins of power? Frankness, in this context, means thinking in terms of long-term strategic interests, not immediate reactions or historical loyalties that may no longer serve us in a rapidly changing world.
Ultimately, this is not an endorsement of one view over another, but an invitation for critical thinking and courage in confronting reality. Are we prepared to pay the price of this change, whatever its form? What is our true role in shaping this future, rather than merely adapting to it? And do we possess the courage to ask ourselves these questions before harsh reality imposes them upon us?
